We went to Bar Harbor last October with two Australian Shepherds. One was about a year old and the puppy was 3 months old. We stayed at the following:

The cabins are located on Route 3, four miles north of Bar Harbor, and one mile from Acadia National Park' s Visitor Center. Restaurants and stores are nearby.
The owners are very nice. There were several other dogs there at the same time we were there. The cabins were clean and our cabin had two large bedrooms, a small bedroom, two baths and a kitchen. That was the only cabin available when we made our reservations in September. Prices were very reasonable.
There is also a field where you can exercise the dogs.
